Mariani: Butcher since 1968

The history of Mariani’s butchers began in 1968, when Bonaldo Mariani opened a small shop in Viale di Vittorio along one of the main roads through the town of Chianciano Terme.

With passion and devotion for his work, Bonaldo offered only quality meats with a certified origin, personally selecting the animals to be slaughtered from the nearby farms of the Val d’Orcia and Valdichiana and taking care of the meat processing.

During those years of hard work the foundations were laid for a brand of quality still present today and which has made of Mariani one of the top butchers of the area. In order to satisfy the high demand, in 1979 the butcher’s shop increased its business by opening a new sales point in Via Tevere, where Bonaldo’s expertise was passed on to his daughter Anna and his son in law Sergio, and later to his nephews Filippo and Francesca. Today, in that same shop, recently renovated, tradition meets modernity and the attention that Bonaldo reserved for the animals is now devoted to the choice of the best farms and meat processing techniques, in accordance with tradition and safety standards.

For this reason the meat sold in our shop has kept up the quality of the past. Bonaldo is now retired but, with his genuine attachment to the past, regularly drops in, to taste the new products and watch the results of his past efforts thrive in the hands of his family.
